Notifications will obviously be a core part of the "my" experience. When a user clicks on a screen that has no new notifications (which will be true for most users the first time), that's a great opportunity to educate them about what notifications are, how they'll work, and whether/how the user can control subscriptions (topic, email/sms/none, etc.).
The language under Your Account would be confusing to a layman- How are they supposed to protect their information on the MyGov system? ( I would include language like not sharing log-in information, etc. to make it clear about the things the user should be doing to keep their account safe)
I Love the Community & Reps stuff and that it links to other relevant pages and social media sites! I’m trying to think of other types of information that could be valuable there (maybe weather, emergency alerts, traffic info?) maybe a fun fact as well but I think you should poll or ask around to see what other people think could be good information to have in this section. I think that “Edit Profile” should be a Task for beginning users so that one of the first things the user does is complete their profile- I was immediately drawn to the Tasks panel first and worked on that before going anywhere else so I think that completing your profile should be one of the user’s first tasks- maybe a message is also sent after a user completes it congratulating them on completing their profile and ...more »
